Im Vergleich zu den vorangehenden Jahren, waren diese eher von einer ruhigeren Stimmung geprägt und somit, im positiven Sinne, die wohl enspanntesten, seit der Einführung vor 16 Jahren. Der Samstag wurde mit einer Trainingseinheit, bestehend aus einem Kihon/Kata/- Mix, eröffnet. Hier wurden alle Grundtechniken, gepaart mit Idogeiko, sowie sämtliche Kata, welche seit 2012 Teil des Prüfungsprogramms sind, durchgelaufen.

Das zweite Training hatte diverse Kumitetechnicken, mit einem abschließenden Mini-Turnier, als Fokus. Die Präsentation der Kumite-Kombinationen wurde, abwechselnd, von anwesenden Black Belts sowie auch erfahrenen Kämpfern übernommen. Gegen Ende gab es ein kleines Turnier, welches mehr dem „Spaßfaktor“ diente, als wirklich kompetitiv zu sein.

Zum Abschluss des Tages ging es zum Essen ins Restaurant und, wie üblich, ein  nachfolgendes, gemeinsames Anschauen von Kyokushinvideos bis zum frühen Morgen.

Wie gewohnt, stand Sonntags der traditionelle Lauf zum 798m hochen Altkönig auf dem Tagesprogramm. Als erster an der Spitze war (eintragen), gefolgt vom Zweitplatzierten, (eintragen) aus Stuttgart, und, mit Verzögerung, gesellte sich (eintragen) ebenfalls zu den Erstankömmlingen. Die anderen Teilnehmer gingen es gemütlicher an und ließen eine Zeitlang auf sich warten. Neben einigen kurzen Kumiterunden, zur Auflockerung, gab es am Ende eine meditative Trainingseinheit. Beendet wurde das Wochenede mit einem umfangreichen Frühstück im Dojo.

80 members from all over the world participated in the International Training Camp, Dan Test

The 2012 International Training Camp' Dan Test was held on April 16th & 17th at Mt.Mitsumine in Saitama Pref. Japan. IKO President Kancho Shokei Matsui, Shihan Yuzo Goda and Shihan Katsuhito Gorai with 80 members from around the world participated. The members included 2012 women's world karate middle weight champion Anastasia Khripunova(Russia), heavy weight champion Agnieszka Sypien(Poland) and many who participated in the 2012 friendship tournament. The camp started with Sosai Oyama's 18th memorial service followed by training and Dan Test. The 2nd day started with early morning training and ended with the water fall training to finish the 2 day camp.

IKO Kyokushinkaikan founder Sosai Masutatsu Oyama's 18th memorial service was held at the Mitsumine Shrine in Saitama Pref. on Monday, April 16. 160 members took part in this memorial service which included IKO President Kancho Shokei Matsui, Shihan Yuzo Goda, IKO officials, Branch Chiefs from all over Japan and oversees, all members who went to the International Training Camp after the 2012 friendship tournament and headquarter staffs. Participants together gave prayers to the founder of Kyokushin karate. The memorial sevice started with a prayer Shinto style then members moved to the "Soreisha" where Sosai Oyama's spirit rest and finishied by paying respect to Sosai's Monument.

The 2012 Women's World Karate Championships was held at the Tokyo Gymnasium on April 14th &15th. In the KUMITE Category Elena Vorobyeva(Russia) won the light weight for the third time. In the middle weight last years Women's World Open Karate Champion Anastasia Khripunova(Russia) won for the fifth time. Agnieszka Sypien(Poland) won the Heavy weight which was her third. In the KATA category which was held on April 14th, Miruyo Ito(USA) won for the fourth time.

Der erste Kata-Lehrgang 2012 fand über das Wochenende vom 00.02.2012 bis zum 00.02.2012 in Frankfurt am Main statt. Der Hauptfokus lag auf der Vereinheitlichung von diversen Kata für sämtliche Dojo's in Deutschland, da nach wie vor Unterschiede bezüglich des Ablaufs vorherrschen.

Die ersten zwei der drei Samstagstrainingseinheiten dienten zur Wiederholung der Pinan's sowie deren Ura-Version, wobei auf Letztere intensiver eingegangen wurde. Das abschließende Training befasste sich mit den wiedereingeführten sowie mittlerweile als Bestandteil der Prüfung anzusehenden Tekki Ichi, Ni und der Bassai Dai Kata. Besonders hier konnte man Anlaufschwierigkeiten feststellen, da sich die Abläufe teilweise recht stark von denen der Pianan's unterscheiden. Beendet wurde der Lehrgang mit einem Lauf zum Main am Sonntag morgen.

UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre (age 30/Canada) also known as "GSP" who's origin is Kyokushin Karate visited Kancho Shokei Matsui on February 22. GSP started Kyokushin Karate at the age of 7 in Canada and developed the basics as a fighter and made his MMA debut in 2002. He moved his battlefield to UFC from 2004, and after winning the welterweight title in 2008 has successfully defended it 6 times making him one of the best MMA fighters in the world. This meeting materialized when GSP himself visiting Japan for the first time contacted Honbu with his desire to meet the head of Kyokushin, Kancho Matsui the roots of his martial arts.
He quoted "I idolized Sosai Oyama and Kancho Matsui since I was a child. Unfortunately Sosai Oyama has passed away, but meeting Kancho Matsui has made my childhood dream come true" with a smile in his face. Kancho Matsui honored GSP's achievements by presenting the 3rd Dan Black Belt and ICHGEKI Dogi and gave his word of support to GSP who is recovering from an injury "Being patient is part of training, so for now please rest and concentrate on your recovery. I wish you all the best and look forward to your great success ahead".

Der 1.Bundeskinderlergang diesen Jahres fand am Samstag den 31.01- bis zum Sonntag 01.02.2012 in Frankfurt am Main statt. Es haben Kinder sowie Jugendliche aus ganz Deutschland teilgenommen. Der Samstag war eher technisch orientiert: mit dem Schwerpunkt auf Kihon sowie Kata.
Sonntags hingegen, lag der Fokus auf Partnerübungen und Kumite, wobei der Tag am frühen Morgen mit einem Lauf zum Main begonnen wurde. Sämtliche Anwesenden, von Anfängern bis zu den Fortgeschrittenen, hatten Spaß und konnten jede Menge Lehrreiches mit nach Hause nehmen.
Das Feedback der Eltern fiel sehr positiv aus, weshalb wir hoffen, alle Teilnehmer auch nächstes mal wieder beim Bundeskinderlehrgang begrüßen zu können.
